Working Out Your Speed and Strength

A workout program that is targeted to develop your vertical jump and your speed is a bit difficult to find. There are many exercises out there that can help you develop your jump, but many of them are focused on developing your speed. You know, improving your speed alone is not going to suffice. You need to incorporate a variety in your workouts.

Out of all the vertical jump exercises, there is nothing that will come close to wind sprints. This exercise is easy to do and you do not need to enroll yourself in gyms or such. Do this at least three to four times a week and for at least forty to fifty meters and you are sure to see fast results.

Another easy and fantastic jump exercise that you can do is jump rope. You might find this a bit funny, but this will really boost your jump in no time. Try to jump rope at least three to four times a week and do at least two-hundred jumps with every session. This way you are sure to acquire huge gains!

There are still many vertical jumping workouts that you can do. Here are a few more exercises to help get you started!

1.) Leap Ups – This is a great workout for the legs. Here is how you do it. First, stand up straight, squat down a bit and then explode upwards. You need to do this quickly and in quick successions.

2.) Depth Jumps – You will need a box in order to perform this routine. The box also needs to be at least two to three feet in height. This is an easy exercise. Just start on top of the box and then drop back down. Repeat as necessary.

3.) Thrust Ups – Stand with your legs straight and then leap up as high as you can. The instance you get down on the ground, leap back up again.
