Modern Brides Wear Red Wedding Dresses

It seems like all young girls grow up dreaming of their fabulous white weddings, complete with all the lacey frills of a traditional white wedding gown. In reality, however, times are different and a conventional wedding is not necessarily what is wanted or needed. In the event that you decide to break tradition for your wedding, perhaps because white doesn’t suit your skin tone, or for any other reason, really…why not go with a dress which will never be forgotten, such as a red wedding dress, or a dress with red embellishments?

Indeed, should the bridesmaids in your wedding get to have all of the fun while wearing a dress? Change things around and make them wear the white and you wear the dress that is not so noticeably “bride-like.” Maybe you’ll even be capable of wearing the same dress to other formal events later on, rather than having to preserve the dress and never wearing it again.

Many modern brides nowadays are feeling quite sensible about their weddings, even though it would be understandable to stay with tradition and go white: it’s a really special day for a woman, and the start of a fresh life with the man of your dreams. However nowadays brides are smart enough to know that it doesn’t help to begin that new life with an expensive wedding that created a debt burden they can’t afford.

Wedding dresses are an extremely expensive part of weddings, but if one could use it later for other formal events, then the money spent on it would not be quite so wasteful. Red wedding dresses, or even some bright colors of dresses, are rapidly gaining in popularity for brides for this reason. Since white was an old-fashioned symbol of purity for the bride, modern brides don’t really feel the need to bow to tradition. Additionally, many brides are remarrying, which makes a white dress even more inappropriate.

A red wedding dress is the perfect color to make you the focal point of the ceremony, as well as make a fashion statement at the same time. It will enliven the atmosphere, bringing excitement and celebration to the air, which is the perfect thing for a wedding, don’t you think?

However, if you are worried that a red dress is too loud, you might try something less flashy by combining it with cream or white, thereby creating a combination of modern touches and traditional beauty. The majority of your dress could be white or cream, with embellishments of red around the bust area or skirting, or both. Or for another modern take on a wedding dress, check out a white and red dress which is not full length. In this fashion, you would still be able to have your white wedding in your white dress, however you could still use the dress at other events and not look like you’re wearing a wedding dress.
