Some things You May Not Know About Liposuction Alternatives

There are several non surgical ways to remove body fat that offer alternatives to liposuction surgery. One of the most popular techniques is the chemical injection also known as lipo injection. This method of fat reduction is minimally invasive and does not carry the same degree of risk that liposuction does. Liposuction alternatives are great for treating small areas and particularly popular for facial regions. There are also significant desirable side effects of this type of treatment.

This method uses a chemical solution designed specifically to break the molecular bonds that hold a fat molecule together. In doing so the fat becomes a liquefied substance which can be removed naturally by the body’s natural cleansing system. This eliminates the need for an incision to drain or suction the fat from the body. Of course, relying on the body’s cleansing system means that only a very small trace amount can be treated at a time.

There are some complications that could arise from this type of treatment but they are usually very small side effects that are not severe and are temporary. Common side effects include swelling or slight bruising of the treated area. Since the chemical is injected directly into the area to receive the treatment there is some concern of an allergic reaction to certain ingredients in the solution which is typically composed of enzymes, proteins and medicines. There are various types of the same solution so that any identified allergens can be substituted with a different solution.

This technique is particularly useful in treatment small localized deposits of body fat that can be difficult to target through exercise or dieting alone. It is also great for areas that are boney or otherwise difficult to reach through a surgical procedure. It is used as a substitute from facial liposuction down to calf liposuction. It is normal to require several sessions for full treatment and larger areas will obviously require more treatment.
