Glass door bar coolers are used by bars all over the world for a variety of reasons – they are easy to use, quick to clean, and their glass door shows customers what is for sale as soon as they walk through the door. Many bars choose these models over horizontal bar coolers because they offer a lot more versatility, with a much smaller floor area required to refrigerate an equivalent number of drinks.
Bar drinks coolers have a glass door that typically have 3 (but sometimes two) panes of glass to keep the cold air inside the fridge. This is not as efficient as the solid doors of other coolers, but the advantage of being able to see exactly how many drinks are left with a quick glance is something that bar owners appreciate. One of the main disadvantages with vertical bar coolers however is that when filling the cooler every bottle must be rearranged by hand, unlike with horizontal coolers where you can just empty the box in and forget about them.
The main advantage that vertical coolers offer however is that the glass door makes it instantly obvious to customers exactly what drinks you offer refrigerated – a light inside the fridge can also make the drinks inside appear appealing to customers as well.
Cost
Bar coolers can be bought in a few ways – leased from a supplier, bought brand new, or purchased second hand. Since they tend to be pretty reliable machines a bar could save a lot of by buying second hand bar coolers from classified adverts or auctions. Although it is possible for a bar to get a cooler for free by striking a deal with a distributor, a lot will lease you a cooler on the condition that you continue to buy a certain amount of drinks from them per month. This can make owning a cooler almost cost free!
