Want to lose that extra flab on your tummy? Or is it that you want to tone your entire body? Make your choice and then choose as to what you want to do? Swim or run on the treadmill? The choice is yours.
The electric treadmill helps you to lose weight because it increases your body heat and elevates your heart rate, thus making you sweat. It tones your lower body and thus works on your thighs, lower legs and core and thus helps you gain stamina. It also has its own disadvantages, it can possibly cause injuries in the joints in the lower half area of your body for those who are overweight and naturally stocky and wish to lose body weight. It is also quite possible that one might get bored of running on the treadmill.
On the other hand, swimming is an extremely good and natural exercise to work on your entire body. It also depends on the kind of stroke you use. Swimming can possibly touch muscles that running can hardly touch. Swimming is kinder on joints than any other weight loosing exercise, but over doing it may lead to back problems and tearing of ligaments. It is also always easy to find a place to run than to swim, especially when you are on vacation.
Those who really want to lose weight can combine both of them and thus include them in their fitness regime. Including the two in your workout will be more beneficial as they together will work on different muscles and thus help you lose weight as well as tone up your body providing you with a total body workout.
So the choice is yours. Get into those tankinis or run on the electric treadmill? Or just include the both of them in your workout, provided you have enough time.
