A baby gate may look like a form of confinement; but, in reality, it is just a preventive measure. You don’t want your little toddler run into any trouble, do you? Babies have no sense of space and are not offended by limitations of space; so if you really want to keep your baby from getting into some space; or keep baby from falling down the steps; a baby gate is a must.
Depending on where you want baby to keep out of, this will determine where you will put up the baby gate. People who have fire places will want to put some kind of gate there. You may want to build a decorative baby gate or install just a basic one.

Baby gates come in wood, metal and plastic. Some have doors that swing in and others that swing out. The Baby gates with doors that swing in will be safer than those with doors that swing out. Even if a baby leans heavily on the door that swings in; it will never give way; whereas a door that swings out may have the capability of breaking and baby falling through.
Choosing the right baby gate is as important as choosing other baby items. Your child’s safety should always be on the top of your list of priorities.
