For those of you who go off and do some ironing in the few minutes peace you get while Ben 10 is on, you need to know a few basics so that you can plan the party accordingly. The Ben 10 cartoon, now in its 6th year on Cartoon Network, is the story of a young boy who finds a watch that allows him to transform into various alien characters to fight off evil. This watch is called the Omnitrix and the aliens all have unique names and abilities. The aliens and the Ben 10 Omnitrix are key to the story so they should be key to your party.
Ben 10 Birthday Cakes
If you want to make a Ben 10 cake yourself rather than buying one, sticking a Ben 10 figure or two on the top is probably not going to cut it. Instead you need to put your artistic skills to the test by drawing the image onto the icing. This is not as difficult as it sounds. First of all you need to find a picture to trace. Look on the internet for something that is not too detailed and will fit your cake. Trace the image using a non-toxic crayon and then cut it out. Put a layer of icing on the cake and freeze it for 10 minutes or so. Then place the rice paper onto the icing and begin to cover it by piping colored icing around the line edges as necessary and then by filling the areas completely. The rice paper will dissolve underneath the icing.
Ben 10 Birthday Party Activities
To keep with the alien birthday party theme, one idea combines some fun craft work with a game at the end, always popular with kids. For this great party activity, take some paper plates and set up a table with some crayons, pens and pencils so that the kids can decorate them as flying saucers. When they are all done, take them into the garden and see who can fly theirs the farthest.
Another craft idea that doubles up as a going home present involves the kids making their own kids Ben 10 t-shirt. Buy a range of white t-shirts, some transfers and some fabric pens. The kids at the party can color or iron on Ben 10 designs to their t-shirt and take it home as a momento from the party. Great idea!
